The Pakistan Super League PSL 10 will restart on May 17th with the final match scheduled for May 25. This new timeline pushes the tournament’s end date one week later than originally planned.
The last four group matches will happen at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, while the playoffs and final will take place in Lahore. Except for one day game on May 18 between Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators, all other matches will be night games, starting at 7:30 PM local time.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed the update on social media. He posted: PSL 10 picks up from where it left off. Six teams zero fear. Get ready for 8 thrilling matches starting May 17, ending with the grand final on May 25. Best of luck to all teams!”
The league was delayed earlier due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan. Now, with eight matches left, the PCB and franchises are eager to complete the season quickly.
On Monday the PCB held meetings with team officials to finalize dates and venues. One major concern is the availability of foreign players. Reports suggest that many overseas cricketers may not return for the remaining games. This could lead to imbalanced squads as some teams may get more overseas players than others.
To solve this the PCB is considering holding a replacement draft so teams can fill missing spots.
Because of this new schedule, Bangladesh’s tour of Pakistan will also change. The PSL 10 final now falls on the same day Bangladesh was supposed to play its first T20I against Pakistan in Faisalabad. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has said discussions are ongoing to reschedule the series.
