India beat Zimbabwe by 35 runs in the 3rd and last T20 of the series. India wrapped up a flawless T20I series with another convincing victory over Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club. The visitors outplayed the hosts in every department to complete a 3-0 whitewash and finish the tour on a high.
A powerful batting display, followed by disciplined bowling, ensured India remained in complete control throughout the contest.
After being asked to bat, India built a strong platform through young opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.
The left-hander played with confidence and maturity, scoring a superb 81 from 49 deliveries. He kept the scoreboard moving with positive stroke play and anchored the innings from start to finish.
Ishan Kishan and captain Shreyas Iyer also made valuable contributions during the middle overs, maintaining the momentum.
Rinku Singh then added the finishing touch with a quick unbeaten 25 from just 14 balls, helping India post a challenging total.
Zimbabwe’s bowlers struggled to contain the visitors. Blessing Muzarabani was once again the standout performer, returning figures of 1 for 33. Brad Evans claimed two wickets, while Sikandar Raza and Wessly Madhevere picked up one each. Although the hosts improved during the closing overs, India had already built a commanding score.
Zimbabwe began the chase with positive intent despite losing three wickets inside the Powerplay.
Ben Curran and Dion Myers played attacking shots to keep the required run rate under control as the hosts reached 53 for 3.
Ryan Burl and Wessly Madhevere then revived the innings with a valuable 60-run partnership, briefly raising hopes of a competitive finish.
However, Madhevere’s dismissal in 3rd T20 proved to be the turning point for India against Zimbabwe.
Burl continued to fight and remained unbeaten on 54, but he found little support from the remaining batters as the asking rate continued to climb.
India’s bowlers maintained pressure from the very first delivery.
Mayank Yadav struck with the opening ball of the innings to hand the visitors an ideal start. He later returned to finish with an impressive three-wicket haul.
Yash Thakur also made a major impact by taking two wickets in a single over, putting Zimbabwe firmly on the back foot.
Ravi Bishnoi controlled the middle overs brilliantly. His economical spell of 1 for 24 restricted the scoring and forced Zimbabwe into taking unnecessary risks.
Ashok Sharma also enjoyed a memorable outing by claiming his maiden T20I wicket as India comfortably closed out the match.
While India’s fielding included a few dropped catches, the mistakes did not affect the outcome. However, the team will look to sharpen that area ahead of future assignments.
After the match, Ravi Bishnoi credited his recent improvement to hard work and guidance from the coaching staff.
He explained that the conditions in Zimbabwe suited his bowling style, with the ball staying low and skidding through after pitching. He also noted that the larger boundaries helped the bowlers maintain pressure throughout the series.
The comprehensive victory in 3rd T20 over Zimbabwe completed a dominant 3-0 series sweep for India.
Led by Shreyas Iyer, the visitors delivered consistent performances with both bat and ball across all three matches. Every department contributed, highlighting the depth and balance of the squad.
Zimbabwe showed flashes of promise during the series but could not sustain pressure against a well-drilled Indian side. The hosts will now look to regroup, while India leave Harare with another impressive series triumph and plenty of confidence for the challenges ahead.
