Lahore Qalandars won the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 Final from Quetta Gladiators by 6 wickets at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore. Quetta Gladiators decided to bat first after winning the toss from Lahore Qalandars. Both the teams previously reached Finals of PSL for 3 times each but never face each others.
Quetta Gladiators opening was not so good but middle order done well. Rossouw 22, Fernando 29, Chandimal 22 and Hassan Nawaz fighting 76 runs innings to 178/8 in 19 overs. Faheem Ashraf hit 22 runs in the final over of Mirza Salman with 3 sixes and a four and ends up the innings at 201/9 after 20 overs.
This is the first time in the 10 years history of PSL when Quetta meet Lahore in the final. Lahore face defeat from Karachi Kings when first time meet in the finals of PSL season 2020. Lahore Qalandars won two consecutive titles of HBL PSL 2022 and 2023 from the same opponent Multan Sultans.
Qalandars reached the finals 3rd time in the past 4 years and win two titles. On the other hand Quetta Gladiators reached the final after 5 years the last time they reached was the PSL 2019. Quetta Gladiators win the only Title in 2019 from Peshawar Zalmi by 8 wickets.
While chasing a big total of 202 with 10 run per over in the finals is a great task and Qalandars did it with perfection. Fakhar Zaman (11) fell earlier in the 4th over but Muhammad Naeem keep striking the ball all around the ground. Muhammad Naeem (46) and Abdullah Shafique (41) lead the chase with good strike rate. Naeem hit 46 runs with 6 sixes and a four in just 27 balls.
Kusal Perera hit 62* runs on just 31 balls with 4 sixes and 5 fours at strike rate of 200.00. Perera added important runs to the innings. Sikandar Raza hit 22 runs only consuming 7 balls with help of 2 sixes and 2 fours. He hit the final runs to end a successful run chase.
Lahore Qalandars won the 3rd title on their home ground Gaddafi Stadium Lahore. Qalandars won PSL 10 Final with 6 wickets and one ball left from the innings. Lahore Qalandars makes record in PSL 10 years history of highest successful run chase in the final.
