Gujarat Titans Thrash Rajasthan Royals by 58 Runs to Go Top of IPL 2025 Table

Gujrat Titans vs Rajasthan Royals

Gujarat Titans continued their red-hot form in IPL 2025 with a massive 58-run win over Rajasthan Royals in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. This win marked their fourth victory in a row and took them straight to the top of the points table.

After being asked to bat first by Rajasthan Royals, Gujarat Titans got off to a shaky start as Jofra Archer removed Shubman Gill early. But Sai Sudharsan stepped up once again. The left-hander played a composed yet aggressive knock of 82 off 53 balls, guiding GT’s innings from the front.

He found support in Jos Buttler and Shahrukh Khan, who both chipped in with 36 runs each. Rahul Tewatia added quick runs at the end to take Gujarat to a strong total of 217 for 6 in their 20 overs.

While Archer bowled with pace and control (1/30), the rest of Rajasthan’s bowling unit leaked runs. Theekshana and Deshpande picked up two wickets apiece, but both conceded over 50 runs. Gujarat’s batters took full advantage of the loose deliveries in the final overs.

Rajasthan’s run chase never got going. Siraj and Arshad Khan struck early, leaving RR reeling at 15/2 within three overs. Sanju Samson tried to steady things with a fluent 41 off 28 balls. Later, Hetmyer fought hard, smashing 52 off 32, but he got no support from the other end.

Gujarat’s bowlers kept the pressure on. Rashid Khan took 2 for 37, while Prasidh Krishna finished with an excellent 3 for 24. His double-blow in the 15th over broke RR’s backbone. Sai Kishore cleaned up the tail, wrapping up the innings at 159.

No surprises as Sai Sudharsan took home the Player of the Match award. His well-paced 82 was the key to Gujarat’s huge total. He has now become the go-to batter for GT, consistently holding the innings together this season.

With this dominant win over Rajasthan Royals, Gujarat Titans have made a loud statement. Their balanced team, with reliable batters and sharp bowlers, is clicking at the right time. Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, saw their two-match winning streak come to an end.

Next up, the Titans will look to carry this momentum forward as they strengthen their grip at the top.
