Tri-nation series

A tri-nation series will take place from February 8 to 14 featuring hosts Pakistan along with New Zealand and South Africa. The matches will be held at the newly constructed Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and National Bank Stadium in Karachi.

The tournament will kick off with Pakistan facing New Zealand at Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday February 8 at 2 PM Pakistan Standard Time. On Monday February 10 New Zealand will play South Africa at the same venue.

After the second match the action will shift to Karachi. On Wednesday February 12 Pakistan will meet South Africa at National Bank Stadium in a day-night game. The final match between the top two teams will take place on Friday February 14 at 2 PM.

Ten Sports, PTV Sports and A-Sports will broadcast all matches live. It will be available for live streaming on Tamasha, Myco and Tapmad in Pakistan.

This tournament offers all three teams the chance to prepare for the ICC Champions Trophy which will begin on February 19 in Karachi. Pakistan will face New Zealand in the opening match of the ICC event.

Pakistan’s captain Mohammad Rizwan is aiming for his fourth consecutive ODI series win after leading the team to victories against Australia, Zimbabwe and South Africa in 2024.

On the evening of the tri-nation series Rizwan said. “We are thrilled to play in front of our home crowd and at the new stadiums in Lahore and Karachi. The preparations have gone well and the players are restless to perform their best in this tournament before the ICC event.”

New Zealand’s team after their first training session at LCCA Ground on Thursday evening is ambitious to start strong. Mitchell Santner shared “We had a productive training session in Lahore under the lights. We are excited to face Pakistan on Saturday. It’s great to be back in Pakistan and the tri-nation series will help us get familiar with the wickets preparing us well for the upcoming major event.”

South Africa led by Temba Bavuma arrived in Lahore early Friday. The team will begin their first training session on Saturday. Bavuma said “This is a great chance for the team to warm up before the big event. We have a diverse squad and this series will help us adjust to the conditions ahead of the ICC tournament.”
