IPL 2025 Schedule,The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will start on Saturday March 22. The opening match will feature Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) the defending champions playing at their home ground Eden Gardens. Their opponents will be Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) who recently named Rajat Patidar as their new captain.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) last year’s runners-up will also begin their campaign at home. They will face Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal on Sunday March 23. This match will take place in the afternoon.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not officially released the full schedule. However, sources suggest that the tournament will follow its traditional format. The final will take place in Kolkata at Eden Gardens on Sunday May 25.

BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla had earlier hinted at a March 23 start. However, the board has now decided to begin the season a day earlier.

This season, 12 cities will host matches. Apart from the 10 usual venues Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Mullanpur, Delhi, Jaipur, Kolkata, and Hyderabad two more cities will host games.

New Venues for IPL This season

  • Guwahati: Rajasthan Royals have picked Guwahati as their second home venue. They will play two matches here against Kolkata Knight Riders on March 26 and Chennai Super Kings on March 30.
  • Dharamsala: Punjab Kings will host at least two home games in Dharamsala. Reports suggest the city may get a third match as well.

The playoff games will be split between Hyderabad and Kolkata.

  • Hyderabad: Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator
  • Kolkata: Qualifier 2 and the Final
