Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe 1st ODI highlights

Zimbabwe have win the 1st ODI feom Bangladesh by 25 runs. Zimbabwe produced a spirited bowling performance to stun Bangladesh by defending just 141 runs in a remarkable 1st ODI victory. The hosts held their nerve throughout the chase and made the most of testing conditions to secure another memorable win.

The result came just days after Zimbabwe’s success in the one-off Test, giving the home side another major boost against Bangladesh.

Bangladesh’s bowlers dominated the first innings, with Nahid Rana delivering the best spell of his ODI career.

The fast bowler generated impressive pace and troubled Zimbabwe’s batters from the outset. He finished with outstanding figures of 6 for 21 from 10 overs, including two maiden overs.

Taskin Ahmed also struck early, while a run out involving Ben Curran added to Zimbabwe’s problems.

The hosts kept losing wickets and were eventually dismissed for just 141.

However, Zimbabwe’s lower order showed resilience. Richard Ngarava and Newman Nyamhuri frustrated Bangladesh with a valuable 63-run partnership that lifted the total to a more competitive score.

Their stand proved far more important than it appeared at the time.

Bangladesh’s chase never settled.

Richard Ngarava and Blessing Muzarabani exploited the helpful conditions with the new ball and removed the top order inside the opening overs.

The visitors slipped to 17 for 3 after a series of poor shot selections.

Towhid Hridoy and Nurul Hasan attempted to rebuild the innings with a composed 49-run partnership. They absorbed the pressure and briefly brought Bangladesh back into the contest.

However, the recovery ended abruptly.

A costly mistake handed Zimbabwe another breakthrough, and the innings quickly unraveled.

Bangladesh collapsed from 66 for 3 to 99 for 8 as wickets continued to fall at regular intervals.

The visitors were eventually bowled out for 116, handing Zimbabwe an unlikely but fully deserved victory.

The pitch rewarded disciplined batting and careful shot selection.

Zimbabwe’s lower order recognized those conditions and spent valuable time at the crease to add crucial runs.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, struggled to adjust.

Several batters played aggressive strokes against quality seam bowling instead of allowing themselves time to settle.

Those errors proved costly in a chase where every run carried extra importance.

Although batting remained difficult for both teams, Zimbabwe handled the pressure better when it mattered most.

The victory capped another outstanding performance by the hosts.

After winning the one-off Test earlier in the tour, Zimbabwe followed it up with an impressive 1st ODI triumph over Bangladesh despite defending one of the lowest totals in recent memory.

Their bowlers maintained relentless pressure, their fielders backed them up brilliantly, and the team seized every opportunity that came its way.

For Bangladesh the defeat will be difficult to digest. The bowling attack did its job by restricting Zimbabwe to a modest score, but the batting unit failed to deliver under challenging conditions.

Zimbabwe meanwhile celebrated a famous victory built on determination, disciplined bowling and outstanding teamwork.
