Steve Smith announced his retirement after losing Semi-Final of Champions Trophy 2025 to India at Dubai International Stadium. He announced retirement from ODI internationals on 4th of March 2025. Smith Will be the part of T20I and Test Squad for Australia said by chair person George Belly.

His individual top score in ODI is 164 run. Smith also hit a double century 239 in his test cricket career. Officials says we all fully support his decision of retirement from the ODI cricket. Smith confirmed his participation in T20I and Test cricket for Australia.

Australia loss only a most important match in the Champions Trophy 2025. India beat Australia by 4 wickets at the knock out stage of the tournament. After losing the important match from India Steve Smith announced his retirement from the ODI internationals.
