Peshawar Zalmi has signed England fast bowler Luke Wood for the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The tournament is set to begin on April 11. The franchise announced Wood’s return through an animated social media post.
Wood replaces Bangladesh’s Nahid Rana who is unavailable due to a home Test series against Zimbabwe. He played for Zalmi in the previous season, taking 13 wickets in 12 matches. The left-arm pacer is known for his accuracy and ability to bowl under pressure.
Peshawar Zalmi is aiming for another PSL title, having last won in 2017. Led by Babar Azam, the squad includes top players like Saim Ayub, Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Sufiyan Muqeem. Luke Wood experience in T20 cricket makes him a key player for the Peshawar Zalmi team.
The PSL 10 will kick off with Islamabad United facing Lahore Qalandars in Rawalpindi. The tournament will run from April 11 to May 18 featuring 34 matches. Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium will host 13 games including the eliminators and final. Rawalpindi, Karachi and Multan will also host matches.
Peshawar Zalmi will start their campaign against Quetta Gladiators on April 12. An exhibition match in Peshawar, originally scheduled for April 8 has been postponed.

Luke Wood return strengthens Peshawar Zalmi bowling attack. He has played 165 T20 matches, taking 165 wickets at an economy rate of 8.45. His best bowling figures in the format are 5/50. Wood’s presence will be crucial as Zalmi aims for PSL glory.
