India have won the Final of ICC men’s T20 World Cup 2026 from New Zealand by 90 runs. New Zealand chose to bowl first after winning the toss at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmadabad. India Posted a great total of 255/5 after getting a good start from the opening pair.
Sanju Samson 89 (46) and Abhishek Sharma 52 (21) fires up the first innings in the powerplay. Ishan Kishan 54 (25) also joins the party after 7.1 overs when Abhishek Sharma fell to Rachin Ravindra’s first delivery. Pacers from New Zealand got punished by Indian batters each with economy of over 12. Lockie Ferguson bowled 2 overs and conceded 48 runs in the Final of ICC men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
New Zealand bowlers couldn’t find the rhythm throughout the whole innings and India put 255 on board. James Neesham bowled 4 overs and got 3 wickets but remain expensive leaking 46 runs. Shivam Dube hit 24 runs in the final over bowled by Neesham.
While chasing a great total of 256 New Zealand could not hold their nerves as they keep losing wickets. Tim Seifert from the opening pair hit 52 (26) but no one could handle the pressure from the home side. Mitchell Santner played a captain’s knock of 43 runs but that was not enough to reach a big total.
