Mushfiqur Rahim Right handed wicket keeper middle order batter for Bangladesh announced his retirement from ODI internationals. 37 years old right handed batter played 19 years for Bangladesh international side and decided to leave from ODIs.

Mushfiqur Rahim a skilled Bangladeshi cricketer has announced his retirement from One-Day International (ODI) cricket. He shared the news on social media, explaining that the recent tough period, including Bangladesh’s early exit from the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 without a win, led to this decision.

Mushfiqur wrote, “I am retiring from ODI cricket today.” He added, “Even though our global achievements have been few, one thing is clear: I always gave my best for my country with dedication and honesty.”

Mushfiqur made his international debut in 2005, and his ODI debut came in 2006 against Zimbabwe. In his early career, he impressed with an unbeaten 56 against India in the 2007 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, helping Bangladesh pull off a stunning victory. Over his career, he scored 7795 runs in ODIs, including 9 centuries and 49 fifties in 274 matches. He also captained his team in the format.

He further said, “The past few weeks have been tough. I’ve realized this is my fate.”

Mushfiqur Rahim expressed his gratitude, saying, “I want to thank my family, friends, and fans who have supported me throughout my 19 years in cricket.”

After losing his form in the 50 overs game Mushfiqur Rahim announces his retirement. In the most recent two games of Champions Trophy, Mushfiqur fail to perform. He got first ball duck against India and 5 ball 2 runs against New Zealand.

After his continues bad form in the past he came to this decision. He use social media to announce his retirement on 5th of the March 2025.
