India have won the first Semi-final of Champions Trophy 2025 against Australia at Dubai International Stadium. Steve Smith chose to bat first after winning the toss. India defend the 249 runs against New Zealand in their previous encounter on the same ground.
Australia set a good total of 264 for all out after 49.3 overs. Zampa fell to Hardik Pandya on score of 7 and Australian innings come to an end on 264 with three balls to spare. Mohammed Shami take 3 wickets. Ravindra and Chakaravathy take 2 wickets each. Axar and Pandya take 1 wicket each and Kuldeep remains wicket less.
Australian squad played with a 21 years old debutante Cooper Connolly replaces Matthew Short. Connolly bowled by experienced Shami without scoring any run. Travis Head hit 39 runs on 33 balls with 2 sixes and 5 fours.
Labuschange (29), Josh Inglis (11) and Glenn Maxwell (7) fail to perform in the big game. Smith played a Captain’s knock hit 73 runs on 93 balls with help of 4 fours and only a six. Alex Carey made 61 on 57 deliveries and got run out by superb fielding of Shreyas Iyer. Ben Dwarshius (19) and Nathan Ellis (10) hit helping runs at the end.
While chasing against a strong bowling attack of Australia, India fail to start well as Gill and Sharma dismissed inside the power play. Rohit Sharma dismissed by Cooper Connolly after two dropped chances on 28. Shubman Gill clean bowled by Ben Dwarshius scoring 8 runs only.
Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer steadied the innings by putting a strong 88 run partnership. Shreyas Iyer bowled by Adam Zampa after hitting 45 runs. Axar Patel (27), Hardik Pandya (28) and Rohit Sharma (28) add some valuable runs to the chase.
KL Rahul hit the winning six to Maxwell and end the chase with four wickets in hand and 11 balls to left. KL Rahul remains not out on 42* playing just 34 balls hitting 2 fours and 2 sixes. India win the 1st Semi-Final of Champions Trophy 2025 against Australia by 4 wickets and secure their place into the finals.
Virat Kohli hit 84 runs on 98 balls consists of 5 fours, the top score for India. Kohli received man of the match award on his brilliant knock in the big game. Kohli also played a match winning innings against Pakistan. India will play their Final of Champions Trophy 2025 on Sunday 9th of March at Dubai.
