The hosts controlled the contest from start to finish and once again demonstrated their superiority in all departments. Afghanistan showed glimpses of resistance but India proved too strong throughout the series.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat Afghanistan endured a difficult start.

Prasidh Krishna ripped through the top order and reduced the visitors to 36 for 4 within the opening phase of the innings. The early collapse placed Afghanistan under immense pressure and left them searching for stability.

Captain Hashmatullah Shahidi answered the challenge with a determined innings. He rebuilt the innings patiently and found support from Azmatullah Omarzai and Mohammad Nabi.

The partnerships helped Afghanistan recover and move into a promising position. At one stage they appeared set for a total well beyond 250.

However their progress stalled dramatically. A cluster of wickets late in the innings triggered a collapse and prevented them from capitalizing on the platform they had created.

Despite battling physical discomfort and cramps Shahidi completed a fighting maiden ODI century. His effort remained the standout feature of Afghanistan’s innings.

Meanwhile Prasidh Krishna delivered a career-best performance. The fast bowler claimed his first five-wicket haul in ODI cricket and played a major role in restricting the visitors to 218.

Chasing a modest target India approached the task with confidence.

The opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal immediately put Afghanistan’s bowlers under pressure. They rotated the strike comfortably and punished loose deliveries whenever opportunities appeared.

As a result, the required run rate never became an issue.

The pair dominated the Powerplay and effectively put the match beyond Afghanistan’s reach during the opening overs.

Yashasvi Jaiswal continued his impressive form and anchored the chase in 3rd ODI against Afghanistan with a superb century.

The young opener played with composure and authority, finding boundaries regularly while maintaining complete control of the innings.

After Rohit departed Shreyas Iyer joined Jaiswal and ensured there were no setbacks.

Together they guided India smoothly toward the target and completed another convincing chase.

The result capped off a highly successful series for Shubman Gill and his team.

India dominated with both bat and ball across all three matches and rarely allowed Afghanistan to gain momentum.

Given Afghanistan’s reputation as a competitive white-ball side, many expected a closer contest. However, India consistently stayed one step ahead and delivered professional performances throughout the series.

In the end the hosts completed a deserved clean sweep and reinforced their strength in home conditions. While Afghanistan left the series with lessons to learn despite a few individual bright spots.
